It has been an honor to serve as the South T-Bar website administrator for the past 17 years. However, the POA board has asked me to do something I am not willing to do, so I will be resigning as webmaster as soon as I can purge my credit card information from the current site. At that point it will be up to them to update the current site or move it to a new web host
Details:
At its October meeting, the 2 new backup administrators were identified to replace the previous backup administrator who had sold his property. I was happy to work with these people. However, at its May 13, 2023 meeting, the Board insisted that I give full administrator access to an additional person. I did not think that an additional backup administrator was needed and I did not feel comfortable working with the person named, so I refused. (The charges for the web site are currently being charged to my personal credit card, so it is important that I trust the people chosen as backup administrators.)
Subsequently, the Board approved hiring a 3rd party to host and maintain the website. As a consequence of this decision, you should expect:
-
Once the website is moved to the new web host, you will likely have to re-register on the new site.
-
Expenses for the 3rd party will likely be much higher that what has been spent on the website in years past (specifically, the charge for labor will no longer be $0).
-
The quality of support may be less, since I have checked the site daily for the past 17 years.
